2011 Outlook: Deep-league Only
Stroughter had a solid 31 catches, for 334-yards and one touchdown over the course of his rookie campaign last season until he broke his foot in Week 15 versus Seattle. Stroughter has a shot at being a reliable fantasy contributor someday in the Bucs offense as a slot receiver with his excellent speed, but it could be tough to do it this season since he's coming off the injury and still has significant special-teams duties. Stroughter is not worth anything more than a late round flier selection in fantasy drafts this fall as his role in Tampa Bay will be limited to complementing rookies Mike Williams and Arrelious Benn.
Update 8/19/10
Stroughter caught 3 passes for 33 yards (including a 13 yard touchdown from Josh Freeman in the first quarter of Tampa Bay's first preseason game against Miami). Maurice Stovall went down with an injury, which could lead to more playing time for the upstart Stroughter. Keep an eye on Stroughter from here out in the preseason.
Update 8/22/10
Stroughter caught two passes for 27 yards in the Buccaneers' preseason victory over Kansas City on Saturday night. Stroughter is battling for the starting job opposite Mike Williams, and has certainly helped his cause with his performances in the team's first two preseason games. At this point, Stroughter is the favorite over rookie Arrelious Benn.
