2013 Outlook: Solid/Safe PickLast updated on Aug-24-2013 by Matt De Lima
In PPR formats, Reggie Bush is a great RB2. One big unknown is how often the Lions will lean on Bush to carry the ball. If he sees about a dozen carries per game and a few receptions, that would be ideal. Anything more than that and he could wear down. Bush stayed healthy with Miami and that trend must continue. The former USC back can be counted on for yardage, touchdown opportunities will likely be sparse because of RBs Mikel Leshoure and Joique Bell.
Update 8/23: Bush hauled in 5 catches for over 100 yards last night against the Patriots defense and appears a lock for 80 catches. In PPR formats, he should be strongly considered for an early second round selection.
Via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi said Tuesday that he envisions his top two running backs, Reggie Bush and Joique Bell, "kind of having a split role" this season.Fantasy Analysis:
Some of you might be wondering why this is news. Didn't Bush and Bell pretty much split carries last season? Kind of, yeah. Bush touched the ball 277 times in 14 games; Bell had 219 touches in 16 games. But Lombardi's words hint at more of a 50-50 split between the two players. When Bush was healthy last season, there was no doubt that he was the Lions' lead back. With Bell signing a three-year contract last month that handed him $4.3 million guaranteed, Detroit understandably wants to see more from him to get the highest return on their investment as possible.
Obviously, an even RB committee caps the value of both players, but Bush is the real loser here as he would stand to lose playing time while Bell would gain. Bell racked up almost 1,200 yards and scored eight times despite his limited workload in 2013. It's reasonable to think he can improve on those numbers. Meanwhile, don't pay too much Reggie's name value this summer.

|3.06||Fantasytaz - Jim Day - Definitely looking to go RB-heavy to start my drafts this season, something I was very much against last year. With Foster and Jackson already on the roster I was happy to get Bush here. Bush has every chance to catch 70 balls in this offense and I love getting him as my RB3.|

|2.12||FantasyTaz - Many seem to be high on Bush this year, but are a little afraid to pull the trigger this early, obviously I am not one of them. He was the 12th running back in this scoring in 2012 and I feel he is an even better situation heading into 2013. He should have every chance to catch 60+ balls in this offense with no real competition.|
