2013 Outlook: Deep-league Only

Barber's days in Dallas are now over. The addition of Barber to the Chicago backfield is interesting. Forte is the leader of this runniung game, but veterans Chester Taylor and Barber have produced in the past and could factor in if Forte stumbles or gets injured. We also have Kahlil Bell, who is basically a rookie after not playing a single game in the 2010 campaign coming back this season. Bell looks solid so far in preseason and cpould play a role. I feel Barber is still a deep-league-only guy and potentially a handcuff for Forte depending upon how the Barber - Taylor - Bell rotation sorts out.

The "Barbarian's" days in Dallas are almost assuredly over, what with the Cowboys having drafted rookie runner DeMarco Murray to join Felix Jones and Tashard Choice. The real question is whether the one-time bruising fantasy producer can return to that form in a new stop. Based on Barber's 3.3 ypc average and his decreased role in the passing game, we don't need a Magic-8 ball to say unlikely. Maybe a new city adds some pep to his step and Barber had only 124 touches last season so the wear and tear was not extreme, that time anyway. Unless he lands somewhere with a clearly defined goal line role, Barber is a prominent name without the game to match it.
