2012 Outlook: Solid/Safe Pick
Last updated on Aug-20-2012 by George BissellVincent Jackson posesses every physical tool necessary to develop into an elite fantasy wide receiver, but it is hard to imagine that after leaving San Diego as a free agent this past offseason, that it will happen now in a new system with a new less-experienced quarterback. Despite eclipsing 1,000 yards receiving in three of the last four seasons, Jackson has never caught more than 70 passes in a season or scored double-digit touchdowns. The talent and upside is there, but there are also reasons to be wary of overpaying for Jackson on draft day.

2012 Experts Mock Draft (June) June 6, 2012 - June 25, 2012 |
4.04 | KFFL.com - I love me some V-Jax this year. Josh Freeman will rely heavily on him, and this offense should utilize Jackson's downfield presence as well as San Diego's did. Tampa Bay plays in a division that knows how to score points, and none of these teams are exactly defensive stalwarts against the pass. |

2012 Experts Mock Draft (August) Aug 14 - 24 |
5.10 | KFFL.com - The "price" of taking Cam Newton when he fell into my lap was that I'd probably miss out on a preferred player at WR2 because of how quickly players at the position were coming off the board. It was a worthwhile risk, and even though I'm not high on V-Jax, he's certainly a plenty serviceable WR2, the type I'd be happy to land were I to go QB earlier than I expected. There'll just be some weeks in which I'll need one of my late-round surprise picks to come through more than he does. |
