2013 Outlook: Gamble (high risk)

Last updated on May-29-2013 by Chris Weeks

If there's one thing we can count on in Miami, it is that their backfield will be a mess this season. With Reggie Bush signing in Detroit, the Dolphins were left with a lot of nothing in the backfield. For that reason they selected Gillislee in the fifth round in hopes he can help stop the bleeding. As a rookie it will take some time for Mike to adjust to the pace and understand the protection NFL running backs need to provide. Once he is established, Mike could become the Dolphins' third down back and possibly take some carries from Miller. Until we see how often Mike steps on the field, it is probably best for fantasy owners to pass on him for now.

2013 Mock Draft Results

Month Position Franchise/Comments
2013 FFToolbox Staff Mock Draft #1
June 18th, 2013
15.10 FFToolbox - Scott Atkins
2013 FFToolbox Expert Mock Draft #2
July 2nd 2013
16.06 The Huddle - There wasn't much on the board that interested me; maybe Latavius Murray, who went the pick before, but there's no clear-cut line of succession in Oakland. I'm not sold on the Lamar Miller hype and Daniel Thomas hasn't done much, either, so another RB depth dart at the talented Gillislee could wind up paying dividends down the road.

15.02 CBSSports - This is another lottery ticket. Lamar Miller should be a star, but if he falters or gets hurt I could see Gillislee getting the nod over Daniel Thomas.
