2013 Outlook: Stud (low risk)

Last updated on Oct-14-2013 by Matt De Lima

Update (10-14): Green Bay's victory in Week 6 reminds one of the saying win the battle but lose the war as wide receiver Randall Cobb @rcobb18 reportedly suffered a fractured fibula. The injury is expected to keep the slot receiver out 6-8 weeks, meaning Cobb be out until Week 14. He left in the second quarter after Ravens safety Matt Elam tackled Cobb low with a helmet to the knee. Second-year receiver Jarrett Boykin becomes a strong free agent pickup this week.

In his second year, Randall Cobb blossomed into his role. He saw 104 targets, caught 80 passes for 954 yards and eight scores. For those leagues that also count return yardage, he was a prolific returner as well. Cobb is an excellent PPR player, but I'm not as high on him in standard scoring leagues. Those eight TDs will be tough to match for a slot receiver, even with Greg Jennings and Donald Driver gone. Receiver touchdowns can be a fickle thing and for a slot player, receptions and yardage are much more consistent year-to-year.

2.05 FFToolbox - Brian Murphy - Some may see this as a reach, but what's not to love about an explosive, 22-year-old wideout who gets the ball in his hands in different ways and will be Aaron Rodgers' No. 1 target this season? Rodgers said recently that Cobb could catch more than 100 passes this year. Make it happen, Aaron.

2.11 CBSSports - You have to love the upside here for what should be Aaron Rodgers' favorite weapon. We all know the comments made by Rodgers and coach Mike McCarthy that Cobb could catch 100 passes, and it's a reachable goal after he had 80 receptions last year. He's also entering his third year, and whether or not you still believe in the third-year receiver theory, Cobb is in line for a breakout campaign.

3.05 TheHuddle - Thought about White with this pick, but went with Cobb who I think presents tremendous upside for 2013.
