2013 Outlook:

Last updated on Aug-09-2013 by Jeb Gorham

Update (8/6): More bummer wide receiver news, this time out of San Diego as Alexander suffered a season-ending knee injury. Entering training camp, Alexander projected as the Chargers' No. 1 receiver. Now he projects to spending lots of time in the Chargers' rehab facility. Though he could return as a productive option next season, do not view Alexander as a keeper.

Alexander was productive when he played the second half of last season. He was Rivers' favorite target and his fantasy numbers were worthy to note. I am going to say that Alexander is a solid pick-up at wideout this season. He has the potential to put up 6-7 receptions per game for 80-100 yards and grab TDs here and there. If he can put together a full season and consistent play, he could be a strategic pick-up in your draft.

2013 Mock Draft Results

Month Position Franchise/Comments
2013 FFToolbox Staff Mock Draft #1
June 18th, 2013
7.03 FFToolbox - Jamie Blackburn - Many people seem to be forgetting what a monster Alexander was last season. Unless Vincent Brown reemerges early, I'm pretty confident Alexander will continue to be Rivers' main weapon in the outside/vertical passing game. Maybe not a high volume of targets, but the yardage and TDs should definitely be there. Feeling pretty good about Megatron, Amendola, and Alexander as my starters.
2013 FFToolbox Expert Mock Draft #2
July 2nd 2013
7.07 The Huddle - Another risky injury play here, but since we've already pushed a bunch of chips in with McFadden we may as well keep pushing with Alexander. If all goes according to plan, while I'm plugging four top-25 receivers into my lineup the competition will be struggling to find quality WRs to use on a weekly basis.
2013 FFToolbox Expert Mock Draft #1
June 25th, 2013
7.05 FFToolbox -Scott - There were only a handful of receivers better than DA in the latter part of the season. Rivers really seemed to trust Alexander more than anyone else on the field. The only question with DA is health. 5 knee surgeries is a scary proposition for sure, but I'll take his upside over others presented at this point in the draft.
2013 FFToolbox Expert Mock Draft #3
July 9th, 2013
7.05 TheHuddle - Alexander's health makes him a bit of a risk, but as a WR4 the upside he presents made him to tempting to pass on.
