Author's CommentsLions get 2013 1st round #2. Jacksonville gets 2013 1st round #5 and 2nd round #36 plus 2014 2nd round pick.
Miami get 2013 1st round #6. Cleveland gets 2013 1st round #12 and 2nd round #42
Tampa get Revis and NYJ get 2013 1st round #13, 2013 3rd round #73, 2nd round 2014, and 5th round 2014.
Philly gets 2013 1st round #29. New England get 2013 2nd round #35 and 2013 4th round #101.
Alex Smith is a chief and Brandon Albert is on a one year franchise tag. Joeckel is a beast of a offensive tackle he protected Manizel and will play RT one year then move to the LT. This is the pick for the chiefs unless they get some ridiculous trade from another team.
Trade JAX to DET: Fisher is considered by some scouts better than Joeckel and Reiff will be moving to RT maybe LG. Backus retired and Gosder Cherilus was severely overpaid. The Lions spent to much money in free agency on the secondary signing Houston, Delmas, and Demps to spend this pick on Milliner. Trading up makes sense for the Lions only costing them a second this year and next year while getting a player who will protect their franchise QB.
Kelly released, Seymour a free agent, and Desmond Bryant is a Cleveland Brown leaving them with no clear cut starter at defensive tackle. Floyd provides great pass rushing ability which the Raiders desperately need since only the Jaguars had less sacks. Floyd is a no brainer pick he dominated the SEC and is a monster in the middle.
Eagles front three look like they will be Cox, Sopoaga, and Cole, that is just not good enough since Sopoaga is the only one with 3-4 experience. Lotulelei just reminds me of Nagata from the Ravens he a monster run stopper and can provide a solid pass rush. This will be between Fisher and Lotulelei however the eagles defense needs more the push than their offense.
Trade DET to JAX: he Jags GM Caldwell is building this team through the draft just like his mentors Belichick and Dimitroff did for their selective teams. Jordan can play the SLB on base sets and play DE on nickel and dime sets plus he is a perfect fit for Bradley's attacking Tampa 2 defense. Jordan fits perfectly in this defense and has a high ceiling like Aldon Smith/Von Miller.
Trade Cle to Mia: Miami will skip Arizona for Lane Johnson and since Jake Long is gone plus Jonathan Martin looked much better at RT. Johnson is a reach here but Miami is in win now mode and protecting Tannehill is the QB of the future and the Dolphins spent a ton this off season to make sure he succeeds.
All three tackles are off the board and taken a guard is just way to high for this pick. Ansah is raw but he is a monster who had great senior bowl and has played OLB at BYU. Ansah can become a force to be reckon with his great ability and some teaching.
Kolb will not detour them from taking a QB in the first round plus Kolb could start giving Smith time to develop. Buffalo believes they are a QB away from being an dominate team in the AFC east plus they need to jump Arizona, Philly and Oakland in case they decide to take Smith. Smith is the clear cut number one QB off the board and he has the tools to succeed in the NFL if he improves his footwork his accuracy problems will erase.
Trading Revis makes this pick easier to swallow and getting a steal of an corner like Milliner is which will leave Wilson at the slot. Milliner reminds me a physical corner such as Charles Tillman and Joe Haden. While the offense needs some more help but to get a stud like Milliner at the nine spot is beautiful.
I have put Warmack here before however guards just do not go this high in the draft especially since they just paid for Andy Levitre and they could get Warford in the second round. This secondary besides Griffen and McCourty are horrible they need help instantly and Rhodes is a physical corner who can help with the run and cover with his good speed. Verner is soon to be a free agent and with the pick up of Bernard Pollard could make this secondary the second best in the division.
While this is high for a guy who is a guard/center combo but the chargers in are desperate need to keep pressure off their soon to be free agent QB Phillip Rivers. The defense was not half bad even though it is going through a transition year however Cooper makes more sense from the stand point he can help the run and pass game. Cooper is more versatile then Warmack since he can play both guards positons and center.
Trade Mia to Cle: The Browns need more offensive weapons for Brandon Weedon since Little last year had a sophomore slump while Josh Gorden shined. Even though the Browns 1st three draft picks were offensive players their offense ranked 25th in yards and 24th in points. Austin is a mix of Welker and Harvin, he is explosive and will instantly help this offense.
Trade TB to NYJ for Revis. The Jets need to fix their interior offensive line to protect Sanchez or the quarterback of the near future. The Jets signed Willie Colon but have little faith in Vlad to be nothing but a back up G so they can play Willie at LG and Warmack at RG. Warmack is the best player in the draft if he was a tackle he would have been number 1 however being a guard you drop a bit even though he is a beast.
They didn't grab Cox last year since Kuechley fell to them and when he did they had no other choice. This defense has went through some overhaul process this year but the defensive line could produce more pressure on the QB and help against the run. Richardson was a monster in the middle with an non stop motor.
Moving to a 3-4 this team will need to get a solid pass rusher since in a 3-4 set they do not have any on the roster as of now. Adding Butler is only a stop gap as he could not even catch the eyes of the Cowboys brass to get rid of Spencer. Mingo has good speed and ability yet he needs to add close to 15 pounds to help him better defend the run but will help this pass rushing.
St. Louis needs to pick a safety here since the Cowboys will be there licking their chops to have Vaccaro fall to him. Butler being released because his cap number was way too high for the Rams to afford. Trumaine Johnson a third round corner from last year could play safety next year. Vaccaro is the best safety on the board and a huge need for the Rams plus he can play both safety spots.
The Steelers have taken a WR in the first round before in Santonio Holmes and it worked out well helping them win a super bowl. The Steelers are in a tough spot especially if Sanders gets a high contract offer. Patterson is a project since he only has one real season under his belt of division one play. This team could use another pass rusher however Worilds could be giving a chance to prove himself this year.
If Eric Winston goes to Dallas to play RT this means Free is gone after the draft to pay for the whole draft class. Dallas just resigned Tony Romo to a hugh contract so they better start protecting him or else they will be paying a guy on the injured reserve. Fluker is a big body RT who reminds me of Andre Smith he is awesome against the run but needs to polish his pass protection and could also play RG.
Jerry Reese never seems to amaze me how he just gets studs to fall to him in the draft. The Giants need some rotation in the DE spot especially with Osi gone to the Falcons. Jarvis Jones is a elite pass rushing talent but between the health issues and poor workout he has dropped.
Not paying Urlacher was an clear cut sign they want to get younger at this position. The Bears added some depth at the offensive line position through free agency with Bushard and Slauson. Brown has been shooting up the draft boards pretty fast and has even said to be similar to Ray Lewis at ILB.
Rey Maualuga was resigned to play strong side LB while Burfict will move inside to play ILB since he more mobile. Ogletree is a top 5 athlete but off the field issues has dropped him from being the number 1 LB. Olgetree can play all 3 LB spots but will fit in perfectly at the WLB spot.
So the Rams Lost Stephen Jackson their thousand yard rusher, best WR in Danny Amendola, and pretty good possession WR Brandon Gibson really hurts especially since 49ers and Seahawks are loading up for world war 3. Bradford barely had weapons to begin with so losing them three hurts plus Brian Quick was a bit of a reach at the top of the second round last year. Keenan Allen is a tough physical receiver similar to Anquan Boldin and could erase the loss Gibson and maybe Amendola.
Winfield was old and needed to go especially with his contract and countless injuries. They really improved this secondary trading up for Harrison but with only Cook as their primary corner they need to fill the hole asap.
This team over spent in free agency but they drafted well last year so I expect them to add more pieces via draft and Walden was paid as more of a stop gap at the position. Werner has dropped a bit since people believe is not fast enough to turn the edge against elite OT but he is a relentless attacker and could be a steal down at 24.
The Vikings need another WR besides Jennings since Simpson did not do well in this system last year. Ponder needs more weapons then a fragile Harvin and young Rudolph because no way in the world Peterson can do another MVP season like last year and be healthy for the playoffs. Hopkins a similar WR to Jennings but he is 2 inches taller picking up Hopkins would give the Vikings a good slot receiver to learn under Jennings.
Ryan Pickett is 34 and this defensive line could use some added muscle because this division has some of the better running backs. Williams is a big bodied DT in lane clogging variety especially against the run and can even add some pass rushing presence.
This defense suffered some what without Ryans and James plus Cushings ACL tear last year really hurt. Te'o is on a rollar coaster ride since the national championship and bad combine numbers have him dropping big. They will look for the best WR in the second round.
If watching that AFC playoff game and Champ Bailey getting burnt plus the bone head play of Rahim Moore was not enough of an reason to upgrade the secondary then I do not know what could be. The Broncos did pick up Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on a one year deal but that is just putting a band aid on gun shot wound. Banks is a tall physical corner who had a rocky combine but on tape looked like a top 15-20 pick.
Trade NE to PHL: Vick is a one year fix to see how he does with Kelly's fast pace offense. Dixon is a solid back up at best and Nick Foles does not fit the style of QB needed for this system. EJ has all the tools you want from a mobile QB but he needs to work on foot work being that he is a little raw.
Abraham is gone and Osi was just signed to fill in for two years. This team has two needs now being defensive end and corner while Osi helps losing Abrahams ten 10 sacks really hurts since he was 1/3rd their sack total. Moore was a top 5 pick and if you look at his tape he is a top 5 pick but he needs to get stronger and a guy who is 260 can not bench 225 10 times.
Losing Delanie Walker does hurt especially in the run game but his horrible drops will not be missed. Eifert is another weapon for Colin Kaepernick in the pass attack and he can block the recent decently. Eifert will also give the 49ers leverage on their next Vernon Davis contract giving them another great pass catching tight end.
Ray Lewis is gone and now the Super Bowl champs needs to find his replacement asap. With the signing of Dumervil this could move Upshaw to the ILB spot however I believe Ayanbadejo(Free Agent now) and Bynes are back ups at best so they still need to fill the hole. Minter is a hard nosed physical LB with above average speed for his size and good instincts that Ozzie really covets in his players.
