2/8 costrander3689's Mock Draft
1 - KC: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
I'm not sold on the Chiefs drafting Geno Smith. I think letting Albert walk, and bringing in Joecke will save them a lot of money that they can use to resign Bowe, and allow them to fill their defensive holes in free agency
2 - JAX: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
The Jaguars need to find a way to rush opposing QBs, or they're going to get lit up again. Jones is a risky pick, but could be the next Von Miller
3 - OAK: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
With no 2nd round pick, the Raiders go for their QB here. They'd be smart to cut Palmer and move forward with a young QB that can take advantage of their young outside speedsters
4 - PHI: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
Fisher has been flying up draft boards. With Joeckel off the board, he makes sense here for the LT-needy Eagles
5 - DET: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
Losing Vanden Bosch will be an issue if he isn't replaced. Werner is a tough DE that can rush QBs and hold up against the run, both of which are needed in Detroit
6 - CLE: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
The Browns said they'll run a hybrid 43/34 defense next season, making Jordan an excellent pick. He can line up at OLB in either set, and at DE in the 43
7 - ARI: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
With Fisher and Joeckel on the board, Barkley makes the most sense. If they can land Albert or Long in FA, this could be a different team
8 - BUF: Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse
Nassib has been gaining some steam as his season went on, and he had a solid combine performance. Pairing that with Marrone being hired at Buffalo, makes this a solid pick
9 - NYJ: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
Rex Ryan needs pass rushers, badly. Mingo would be a good value/need pick for the Jets
10 - TEN: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
The Titans take the top player on the board. Lotulelei isn't a pass rusher, which they need, but he can certainly push and collapse pockets, and free up LBs and DEs
11 - SD: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
The Chargers get a super-athletic edge protector her. Johnson should keep Rivers upright and safe
12 - MIA: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
Forget WR, the Dolphins get the top player in the draft here. Warmack should keep Tannehill safe, and help this run game get going
13 - TB: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
The Bucs get the top CB in the draft here. They can't afford to not take Milliner
14 - CAR: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
Floyd is an absolute steal here, and fills a huge need for Carolina
15 - NO: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
The Saints need edge rushers, especially with a move to a 34. Moore makes sense here
16 - STL: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
The Rams need someone to line up over the top to contain opposing offenses. Vaccaro is a steal here, and gives them another really good, young player
17 - PIT: Keenan Allen, WR, California
With Mike Wallace almost certainly on his way out, look for the Steelers to target a WR early. Allen would nicely compliment Brown and Sanders
18 - DAL: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
The Cowboys eschew their d-line need here to get a monster o-lineman that can play guard or center
19 - NYG: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
As a Giants fan, I'd be thrilled to land Te'o here. They need a thumper at MLB, and general LB depth
20 - CHI: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
With Cooper off the board, Eifert looks like a good pick here. He can run block decently well, and help Cutler spread the field
21 - CIN: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
Montgomery should be able to add a few lbs without losing much speed. The Bengals will be looking to replace Michael Johnson, and Montgomery would be a nice fit
22 - STL: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
Saffold has the LT spot locked down, but they need a power RT. Fluker is a bulldozer that should create some space for their young HBs and S Jax
23 - MIN: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Even if they keep Harvin, the Vikings need a WR early. Patterson's athleticism should put him right about here
24 - IND: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
I'd like to go WR here, but Richardson would be impossible to pass on, especially for a team that needs a 5-tech DE
25 - SEA: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
The Seahawks get Wilson an electric playmaker at WR that can line up in the slot and keep opposing defenses away from Lynch
26 - GB: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
Banks can play CB or S, much like Woodson has done. The Packers need secondary help, and Banks is a good pick here
27 - HOU: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
The Texans get an explosive outside WR with excellent deep speed that can start at #2, and eventually pair with Posey to replace AJ
28 - DEN: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
Hankins is a steal here, and gives the Broncos a monster run-stopper at DT
29 - NE: Robert Woods, WR, USC
The Pats could likely be looking at a whole new WR corps next year. Starting with a sure-handed, crisp route runner would be a good start
30 - ATL: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
Ansah would be very hard to ignore here. If they can get him here, and a TE in the next round, they'll be in good shape
31 - SF: Matt Elam, SS, Florida
The 49ers should resign Gholson and draft Elam to replace Whitner. Tnis is a solid upgrade pick
32 - BAL: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU
Based on scheme fit, I have Minter ahead of Brown or Ogletree as Ray Lewis' replacement
