Author's Comments

This is my first official mock draft of the year, Pre-Combine.

1 - KC: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
They obviously need a QB, and this could change, but if the draft were today, Geno Smith is the choice.
2 - JAX: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
The Jaguars need to build around Gabbert, however their defense is a mess. They need pass rushers, and Werner fits the defense.
3 - OAK: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
The Raiders need to decide between Lotulelei and Moore, but the best player is Lotulelei, and he fits a huge need.
4 - PHI: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
With Chip Kelly as the new head coach, an offensive guy, you can probably bet the pick won't be on Milliner. Offensive line is a must for the Eagles.
5 - DET: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
Another decision between taking Moore or Milliner, but Milliner's stock is rising, and he will immediately help the horrific secondary of the Lions.
6 - CLE: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
Moore can play DE, shown flashes of playing well as an OLB, and he is a great player, someone who will help this defense in this tough AFC North.
7 - ARI: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
No QB can come into this situation without getting an offensive tackle. One of the worst offensive lines I've ever seen, Fisher will start immediately.
8 - BUF: Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse
Tough pick...very tough pick. Considering the new coaching change (former Coach of Syracuse), and the need for QB competition, Nassib is the pick...for now.
9 - NYJ: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Jones fits the Jets defense perfectly, an elite pass rusher who fits one of the Jets' top needs.
10 - TEN: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
No one likes to hear Chris Johnson complain about the O line all the time, but he has a point. I don't care that a guard is in the top ten...Warmack is worth it.
11 - SD: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
Philip Rivers can't do it by himself, Johnson is a powerful blocker who will help this mediocre offensive line immediately.
12 - MIA: Keenan Allen, WR, California
Let's give Tannehill some help, Allen fits the offense, a great route runner who will give help to the young QB.
13 - TB: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
A quality corner who fits one of the Bucs' top needs, especially needed in this elite passing division.
14 - CAR: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
A DT may be more practical for the Panthers, but Ansah (if coached up more) is versatile enough to play anywhere on the defensive line.
15 - NO: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
The stock of Jordan continues to rise, and this defense can use any help it can get. He can also play as an OLB if needed.
16 - STL: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
Definetely not a top need for the Rams, but Mingo is the top player on the board, who if coached up by Jeff Fisher, has the ability to become a great pass rushing 4-3 OLB.
17 - PIT: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
Lots of Te'o so far...maybe a little too much...which is why his stock has been falling. But he fits this defense, and is still an elite MLB who will add a young presense to this aging defense.
18 - DAL: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
Hankins is a huge run stuffer, and adds depth to this defensive line.
19 - NYG: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
After cutting many players already, the Giants will once again look to draft MORE defensive linemen.
20 - CHI: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
Cooper is a very good offensive lineman who will help protect Jay Cutler from being crushed on every play.
21 - CIN: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
After a few character issues...down goes Ogletree...but who do the Bengals care? If Pacman Jones can play there then anyone can. However, Ogletree has very good range and good speed for a MLB.
22 - STL: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
A need for the Rams who can easily fill a hole in the Rams' secondary.
23 - MIN: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
WIth all of the Harvin trade rumors, the Vikings will need a fast WR with good hands, which Patterson fits. Ponder needs something other than AP.
24 - IND: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
Cutting Dwight Freeney's release was a sad day in Indianapolis. Who will fill the void?? Montgomery will certainly try...
25 - SEA: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
No glaring defensive needs in Seattle, but Floyd is arguably the top player available.
26 - GB: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Jermichael Finley hasn't been getting the job done, and with Jennings gone, Rodgers could use another offensive weapon.
27 - HOU: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU
No huge weaknesses on the Texans, no WR's worth taking here, so Minter could add depth to the linebacker position.
28 - DEN: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
Champ Bailey is getting older, and adding another corner can't hurt.
29 - NE: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
Just keep giving the Brady weapons...
30 - ATL: Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford
Tony Gonzalez is retiring, so a replacement is needed.
31 - SF: Matt Elam, SS, Florida
This secondary hasn't stepped it up in the playoffs, so the 49ers could use any help they can get.
32 - BAL: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
A steal at pick 32, so John Harbaugh will pull the trigger on one of the top defensive linemen in the draft.
