Probably some of those DTs I let drop will go higher, and 1 or 2 of the WRs might even drop out of the first round. We're basically playing Canadian Football these days: throw, throw, throw and I, like a lot of coaches, haven't yet learned to adjust.

In parting, I should say that Khaseem Greene from Rutgers is a beast, and could easily slip into the end of the first round. Also, someone might fall in love with Tyler Bray. I think Landry Jones has been nitpicked too much. I don't think he's any worse a prospect than, say, Matt Barkley. Ryan Nassib really impressed me. He could go in the first round. The lack of ideal height in a lot of these guys, save obviously Glennon (who I think will be a bust) and Manuel (the most intriguing player in this draft, next to the Honey Badger) disturbs me. Case in point, Aaron Murray, who but for his height would be a first-round no-brainer. All-in-all, I think there's about 25 can't miss players, and some of them will make great picks in the 2nd round. Enjoy the draft !!!

Regards,

NYSACKEXCHANGE, a.k.a., Marc in Jackson, New Jersey

1 - KC: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
Almost had Cardinals or someone trading up. Joeckel had a great combine, and Alex Smith is an excellent game-manager.
2 - JAX: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
With all the pass-rushers available, and all JAX's needs, they should trade down and go Dallas-style in the Jimmy Johnson era, and stockpile picks. Many teams should do this; hardly any do.
3 - OAK: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
This is a tough pick to call. Al Davis would have taken Glennon, 'cause he's circus-freak tall, which is kind of like sprinter-speed in a WR as far as attributes go. But, with no clear-cut #2 QB, a true shutdown corner could be the way to go. (Again, the Raidas' are another team that should trade down & stockpile; but probably won't.)
4 - PHI: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
This was my toughest pick at the top of the draft. I don't get getting a gimmicky-guy (gee, that's a lot of g's ...) to take control of the offense, ahem, team. Wasn't Andy Reid quirky enough as far as that goes? At least he had a lot of success. Anyway, Geno Smith has speed, and so, gimmicks, here they come ... (again)
5 - DET: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Had Damontre Moore here, but 12 reps? Please. Jarvis Jones is my BPA, and supposedly he's medically good-to-go.
6 - CLE: Keenan Allen, WR, California
The steal of the draft-- and probably going to throw my board all out-of-whack. Still-- how can you not give Brandon Weeden this 6'3" weapon? And that ought to open up some holes for the human bowling ball, *Trent Richardson*.
7 - ARI: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
Personally, I think Kevin Kolb derserves another shot, and they should trade down and stockple some OL help. But I'm *trying* to make these picks like I think the teams will, not like I would. Although I have a funny feeling I didn't adhere to this at all with the Cleveland pick ...
8 - BUF: Mike Glennon, QB, North Carolina State
Ryan Fitzpatrick is probably better than any QB still on the board. Just get him some OL help, and a D that can make games more manageable. But panic and perception seem to be driving most things, and not just in the draft. Or how else do you explain the annual coaching and coordinator merry-go-round fad, which helps no one.
9 - NYJ: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
Everyone has Barkevious Mingo going here, but I don't think he has the bulk. If not for the heart ailment, I had Star going #2. The Jets are another team that would benefit frm trading down in the first round if they can get another, preferably low-to-mid, 2nd round pick. But, of course, they probably won't ...
10 - TEN: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
The smartest pick maybe of the whole draft; well, at least in the first round. Guy can play guard and maybe some tackle, can help CJ3 regain some past glory, and, more importantly, help keep Jake Locker from getting killed.
11 - SD: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
Only picked him because he's the highest ranked OT. One of the few teams I think really should stay put, *if* they can get a dominant need player. Translation: I don't thnk Philip Rivers is done and, like with a certain QB in Chicago, with some help at tackle, they'll be a threat to compete with the big-boys.
12 - MIA: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Either trade down, and still get a good WR later in the first round, and add an extra 2nd round pick if you can get it, or maybe an extra #1 next year in addition to a lower 1st-round pick this year. Because this team is far, far away from doing anything. But I like Tannehill, and sooner or later, he's gonna need some weapons.
13 - TB: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
BPA. Could go safety, for Rhonde's heir apparent. Had Vaccaro, but Jordan's too valuable to pass up.
14 - CAR: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
Had him going to NO, but Damontre Moore dropping out of my first round changes that.. Which would be a mistake for , because they need to get more weapons on the outside for Cam Newton, so they should probably try the Jimmy Johnson thing as well ... Is anybody listening?
15 - NO: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU
OK, should *not* trade down. Quite simply, grab the best Defensive guy on the board. A few smart defensive picks in this draft, and Drew Brees could have them back in Super shape. (Disclaimer: okay, to be honest, I seriously would consider trading down. I know I sound like a broken record here, but do you really think one or two new guys on D's gonna fix the *worst defense in the history of the league*? Stockple, son ...
16 - STL: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
Or Hopkins. A real bonehead pick, I must admit. But they need a WR, and there's probably not gonna be any elite one's left come the second round. But the real reason I wouldn't trade down is, I like Sam Bradford, but he needs to develop confidence in his game. This team's not going to win this year, even though Jeff Fischer's a genius. But adding in some more pieces, and maybe come 2014 the Rams could do something special. Or, at least, be ready to compete.
17 - PIT: Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina
Logic says, take the best Defensive player or O-lineman left on the board. But you have to plan on DeCastro being healty this year, and give him time to gel with Mike Adams and Maurkice Pouncey. I just have a feeling Pittsburgh rolls the dice and goes for a dynamic running back that can put this offense over the top.
18 - DAL: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
BPA. Almost went Mantei Teo, despite his poor combine. But, sooner or later, will need to replace Jason Witten.
19 - NYG: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
I think he's overhyped, didn't produce much in his limited opportunity. But if he's there, the fans would go ape if the G-Men don't pick him.
20 - CHI: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
Somebody, please, get Jay Cutler a Left Tackle! I don't know if Fluker's projected to be able to pull it off, but an increase in depth on that line's a plus. I think this team's truly some O-Line help, and maybe a receiver, away. But why on Earth fire Lovie Smith? Asinine, imbecillic move.
21 - CIN: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
This seems about right for Teo to go, not too high-- not too low.
22 - STL: Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford
Gives Sam Bradford a dependable short-option, who can also help keep him upright.
23 - MIN: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
I would go Da'rick Rogers, but seeing I don't want to get cyber-egged, let's just go with the BPA on what will probably be Minnesota's board. Yes, you need a WR. But if a talent like Richarddon's still there, how can you not take him?
24 - IND: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
Had DT here, but Lane Johnson's really risen up the charts, and Andrew Luck needs MUCH better protection.
25 - SEA: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
I had Stedman Bailey here, b/c I think he's more of a first-rounder than mini-me (Tavon Austin). But, lest the laughter ensue, I'll gather no one else has him that high, and Pete goes D.
26 - GB: Alex Okafor, DE, Texas
Wanted to say Lacy, but you can get a good back in the second round. If Okafor's somehow still there, or one of the many talented DT's, Green Bay should pick one. Question is-- do they reach for a 'top' RB?
27 - HOU: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
Bad combine, but he's too good at too important a position to fall into the second round.
28 - DEN: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
BPA. Well, scratch that: Ogeltree is the BPA, but his character is an issue.
29 - NE: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
I would go Ogeltree, since NE seems to be able to handle bad-boys. Also, I liken Austin more to Dave Meggett than the next Wes Welker. But here's betting New England believes the hype.
30 - ATL: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
My BPA. Had him going to Giants at 19, but 40 time is poor even for a DT.
31 - SF: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
Or Matt Elam. If Manti Teo's still around, he'd be a great candidate to take over for (I say not "replace") Ray Lewis. Perhaps trade up into the 17-21 range to grab this tackling-machine with a nose-for-the-ball.
32 - BAL: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
Could go as high as 25, or fall into the 2nd round.

Above Average -- I don't like Glennon so high, but this is a pretty good mock.

Excellent -- Lke lions trade down

Poor -- LOL the Vikes take the 12th best WR in the draft in the 1st round...must be a Bear/Packer/Lion fan. You're high if you really think Okafor is a possibility for the Vikes....Also, where is ALEC OGLETREE???

Poor -- As a Buccaneers fan, I hate their pick. If they go secondary it will be cb, it certainly won't be ss since they drafted one last year. Where is Tyler Eifert?
Tuesday, February 26, 2013 8:05 PM
Excellent -- Eiftert to Dallas? I like it...

Below Average -- Floyd, Richardson, Lane Johnson go higher. Nobody wants to give up extra picks 2013, especially 2014 with knockout class.
