Author's Comments

Of course this is way, way early and I have never done a draft so early before. I'm probably way off on this and things change all the time. I'll probably do a new draft every month until April, then do a new one every week until a day or 2 before the draft. Please rate this for me and please leave your opinion on the picks you like and don't like. Thanks.

1 - KC: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
Should be a QB, so Smith or Barkley, but I'm going with Smith for now.
2 - JAX: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
Maybe Luke Joeckel, but I think they need the DT worse than the OT at this time.
3 - OAK: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
If KC takes Barkley, than the Raiders will take Smith instead. Either way these 2 QBs will be gone in the top 3.
4 - PHI: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
By far their biggest need and he is the best in class. Vaccaro is possible, but a bit high for a SS.
5 - DET: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
They need to get a DE or a FS. A good FS will be available later, this caliber of a DE will not.
6 - CLE: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Biggest needs are OLB and DE and Jones is the best OLB probably in the whole draft.
7 - ARI: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
The Cards would be super happy if things pan out this way. If no one trades up, it should happen. Potential teams to trade up are Dallas, NY Giants, NY Jets and the Bears.
8 - BUF: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
The Bills needs LBs, really OLB, but Te'o is awesome and it's ridiculous that he even fell this far. Too good to pass on for sure.
9 - NYJ: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
If they don't decide to trade up to get Joeckel, than they must have a good OT. This it their man.
10 - TEN: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
High needs and #1 Guard on the #1 college team. With the new rookie pay scale these interior linemen can go earlier.
11 - SD: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
I think CB is just about all the Chargers need really. They might even try to trade up for Milliner, but if they stay put, this is pretty much a guaranteed pick.
12 - MIA: Keenan Allen, WR, California
The Fins really need to get a WR and this is the #1 WR in the draft, so why look any further. They passed on talent last year because they needed a QB even worse, but not this year.
13 - TB: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
They really need a CB more than a DT, but unless there are some surprises at the combine, I doubt anymore CBs will go in the 1st round. DT is their next highest need. Maybe a CB in FA.
14 - CAR: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
The Panthers really don't have that many needs but DT is one of them. Jenkins is probably the best DT left at this point, but things could change, it is a bit early.
15 - NO: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
The Saints have an excellent all around team so they are just taking the best available that is a small need for them. I don't see any big issues with their team.
16 - STL: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
The Rams have 2 1st round picks and they will probably address 2 of their 3 biggest needs with them. If the Saints decide to go with Mosley, then St. Louis will take Mingo here instead.
17 - PIT: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
I wanted to put Giovani here instead, but Vaccaro fits just as important a slot and he is ranked higher.
18 - DAL: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
My Team. For me it would be hard for Dallas to screw this up, as long as they don't take a QB in the 1st round. An OL is needed and personally I'd rather have Joeckel or Warmack or any of the DEs, DTs or OLBs that have been picked before this, but unless they trade up, this is probably the best pick.
19 - NYG: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
I think the Giants are not really hard pressed for any position really, but they could use OL and DL. Moore is a good choice and should be the best DE left on the board.
20 - CHI: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Probably the last really 1st round OT left on the board. An OT is the #1 need of the Bears, so they'd be wrong to pass on this potential.
21 - CIN: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
They need a SS more, but none left rate a 1st round pick. Maybe they can get Elam, Lester or Thomas in round 2.
22 - STL: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
Their 2nd #1 pick. After acquiring their #1 need of an OLB earlier, they now go after a WR. Be it Hunter, Williams or Hopkins it should be a WR.
23 - MIN: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
The Vikes need an ILB and a WR. It's best to grab one of the remaining WRs (Hunter, Williams or Hopkins) and get the ILB elsewhere.
24 - IND: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
The Colts need to upgrade their OL. It doesn't really matter where, anywhere. Cooper is excellent and they will be lucky if he is still actually available to them at #24.
25 - BAL: Barrett Jones, OG, Alabama
At this point we don't know if BAL will even be picking at #25, but if they are Jones makes a lot of sense because he can play C (the Ravens big need) and he can also play G.
26 - SEA: Dallas Thomas, OT, Tennessee
I personally think that Seattle will be picking later, but if they are picking here a OT is needed. I can not see any real pressing needs, but good OT are hard to come by, so don't pass on one with potential. He may really be a 2nd rounder but OT have a way of moving up on draft day.
27 - GB: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson
Hopkins is really the type of WR they need, but don't be surprised if Tavon Austin goes here instead.
28 - HOU: Eric Reid, FS, LSU
I think things will fall just right for the Texans to get one of their few needs, and not a big need at that. Reid is the #1 FS in this draft, but it wouldn't surprise me if TE Tyler Eifert went here instead.
29 - SF: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
Really the 49'ers need a FS worse, so if Houston AND everyone above passes on Eric Reid, then he will go here instead. One of those no-brainer things.
30 - NE: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
As usually New England doesn't need much. They could probably use an OG more, but with what's probably still on the board at this point is not worth at #1. If they like maybe Sam Montgomery better or possibly Jeffcoat, they could pick one of them instead.
31 - ATL: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
Or they could decide to take the 1st RB off the board, but I think they will wait until round #2 for that. Again, this could be Montgomery, Jordan or possibly Jeffcoat at this spot.
32 - DEN: Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina
Finally we get to the 1st RB off the board. I think Denver has an awesome team and today, 9 Jan, I pick them to win the Super Bowl. They could probably use an ILB more, but maybe they will get Nico Johnson or Kevin Minter in round 2.

Poor -- Raiders won't take a QB in round 1 and damontre Moore is way too low
