Gilp23's Mock Draft (Round 1)

1 - KC: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
Andy Reid's system requires a competent QB. I believe that Geno is what Andy is looking for.

2 - JAX: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
So many issues in Jacksonville. Star makes the most sense considering that he is widely considered the best overall prospect.

3 - OAK: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
Oakland's revolving door at Linebacker should come to a halt if/when they draft the Notre Dame standout.

4 - PHI: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
Nick Foles is not a bad Quarterback, when he is upright. Jason Peters' injury is a concern and Joeckel is as NFL ready as they come.

5 - DET: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
Detroits defense is terrible. Werner along side of Ndamukong Suh would provide a stout, young defensive line.

6 - CLE: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
A prototypical pass rusher who would fit perfectly with the upstart Browns

7 - ARI: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
Arizona desperately needs a QB but I believe they take care of that in free agency or they may even give Kolb a 3rd chance. Either way whoever that quarterback ends up being, he needs to stay upright.

8 - BUF: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
The signing of Mario Williams hasn't started the way the Bills would have liked, but a young pass rusher opposite of him could bring some hope to that defense in northern New York.

9 - NYJ: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
Rex Ryan is only relevant because of his defensive prowess. Mingo has the most potential of any DE/LB but is very unpolished. Ryan could maximize his potential.

10 - TEN: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
They never recovered from losing Cortland Finnegan last season to the Rams. Milliner is the best cover CB available.

11 - SD: Oday Aboushi, OT, Virginia
With a new head coach and new GM, the Chargers need to do what they can to turn Philip Rivers back into an above average QB

12 - MIA: Keenan Allen, WR, California
More weapons for Ryan Tannehill, the better.

13 - TB: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
After trading Aqib Talib midseason to the Patriots, the Buccaneers are in need of a good, young CB.

14 - CAR: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
The Panthers interior defensive line is one of the worst in the league. Hankins is a big body that will make an immediate impact.

15 - NO: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
Montgomery went to local powerhouse LSU and is needed along that NO defensive line.

16 - STL: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
Good tackles are a necessity in the NFL. This draft could produce multiple pro bowlers at that position. Fisher could be one of them.

17 - PIT: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
It's surprising that Pittsburgh needs a DE. Harrison isn't what he used to be and Woodley is aging rapidly.

18 - DAL: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
Dallas is a mess and it starts with their offensive line. Romo is a good quarterback but he got brutalized against the blitz this season.

19 - NYG: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
New York's offense and secondary are not in desperate need of someone in the 1st round. Their front 7, is a different story.

20 - CHI: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
We may not see Jay Cutler for much longer if seasons like this past one keep happening.

21 - CIN: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
Cincinnati's defense is actually pretty good. Vaccaro's speed, strength and run stopping ability would sure up that unit.

22 - STL: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Sam Bradford is an average QB playing with below average WR's. Patterson has a chance to be a #1 receiver in this league.

23 - MIN: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
Adrian Peterson is the best in the game at what he does. Christian Ponder is not. He needs weapons other than Percy Harvin.

24 - BAL: Matt Elam, SS, Florida
Ray Lewis will be retiring, but they have sured up their linebacking core for the future. Ed Reed's retirement is next and Elam fits the bill.

25 - IND: Barrett Jones, OG, Alabama
A tough, proven winner would be protecting Andrew Luck for a long time.

26 - SEA: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
Russell Wilson was a gem in last years draft. They need to sure up their interior offensive line.

27 - GB: Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina
The revolving door at RB for Green Bay would stop for GB with Bernard.

28 - HOU: Robert Woods, WR, USC
Andre Johnson is one of the best in the game. Matt Schaub needs a solid #2 receiver to compliment his #1.

29 - SF: Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
San Francisco really doesn't have any "needs". Aldon and Justin smith are one of the best 1-2 pass rush tandems in football. Williams provides a big body in the middle to allow a fiercer rush.

30 - NE: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
One of the best deep threats in the draft would become a dangerous target for Tom Brady.

31 - ATL: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Who knows if Tony Gonzalez will retire or not. They need to draft his replacement and Eifert is one of the best TE's that has come out in years.

32 - DEN: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
Miller, Dumervil and Wolfe already provide a great pass rush. Ansah is a notorious run stuffer and is an underrated pass rusher at DE.
