1 - KC: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
The Chiefs had a total organizational overhaul. Combine that with the #1 overall pick and you usually get a new franchise passer. Smith is by far the best QB in a weak Qb class, and a top of the 1st round talent. Good size, arm strength and accuracy with plus mobility. I think Reid falls in love with the positive tools he has. He does come with some issues though, foot work and decision making being the biggest knocks. But Reid has a good history with this type talent. Reid/McNabb redux?

2 - JAX: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
With no quality signal callers to be drafted in this spot, the Jags will attempt to upgrade it's 30th ranked defense. It'll come down to two guys Moore and Werner. My thinking is Moores explosiveness and higer ceiling as a dynamic pass rusher will be the tipping point. With only 20 team sacks last yr, the Jags need to find a guy that can consistantly get to the QB and I think Moore fits that mold perfectly. Although "only" 250lbs Moore played very well at the point of attack.

3 - OAK: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
If Werner slips past the Jags he won't go far. The Jags were the only team worse than Jax in the sack dept. With the Raiders DLine either aging, leaving or just plain ineffective, Werner will be a day 1 starter. Werner comes with a high motor, ability to disrupt the Qb and an absolute beast at the point of attack. All thigs badly needed for the Oakland franchis.

4 - PHI: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
It'll be interesting to see the direction Kelly takes an NFL offense, he has some nice athletic peices in place already. No matter which way he goes upgrading the LT position is a need. With Dunlap being an FA and Bell an absolute bust of a contract, Joeckel falling here is great for Philly. Probably the safest pick in the draft, Joeckel has the size, athleticsim and run blocking ability to be a franchise LT.

5 - DET: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Very disappointing yr for the supposedly upstart Lions. In this mock it does'nt get easier, with the high end players of their biggest need (43 DE) taken @ 2&3. The best idea for them IMO would be to go with the hybrid/Von Miller type and Jones is that guy in this yrs draft. Probably the best pure talent in the draft Jones is an eliter rusher with ability to chase down plays all over the field. He has had some work ethic knocks of late but questionable character has'nt stopped them before

6 - CLE: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
Although he's had his run ins with the league, coaches and front office, there is no denying Joe Haden is a great talent. That being said the Browns still ranked toward the bottom third in passing D. With a solid front 7 and most offensive peices in place getting a strong corner oppisite of Haden would be smart. They play in a devision with three good QBs that all have weapons and 33yr old Sheldon Brown has seen his better days. Good size and speed Milliner should man up well with NFL WRs.

7 - ARI: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
AZs need for an anchor LT has been ongoing for what seems like, well, forever. It does'nt matter who the QB is if he's getting croaked every other drop back he'll be ineffective. Giving up 58 sacks is unacceptable. Fisher is a tall lean OT, while putting on a few lbs may be in order, he has excellent quickness against speed rushers and fires off the ball very well in run blocking. I would hope for him to slot immediatly at LT but has the versatililty to play all over the line.

8 - BUF: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
I know the Bills are making noise about a new QB, but I just don't see one of value @ #8. If it really unfolded like this maybe the trade out to a team wanting Lotelelei. For this mock though we go with Ogeltree. Ranked 31st in run defense the Bills need a playmaker in the front 7. With Te'os on and off field issues Ogletree is the guy. He flys around the field and makes plays everywhere. His stock is rising and will continue too.

9 - NYJ: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
I don't care what Rex said in his press conference. He's a ground and pound guy to the core, plus his QBs suck and for self perservation they better learn ball control. The OLine has been by far the weak link on this Jets team. This is extremely high for an OG to go, but Warmack is special. He dominated the NCG and had an excellent yr at Bama. Big, nasty and pro ready, he will be a dominant interior OL for yrs to come.

10 - TEN: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
The Titans have greater needs then DT. But at this point Lotulelei is to great of a value to pass up. He really should be gone by now I just could'nt find a home for him, this will probably change in future mocks. He's a top 5 talent. Really has all the tools, tremendous size with great speed and explosiveness. Could'nt be blocked one on one at the collegiate level and will be an handful for NFL lineman.

11 - SD: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
SD has issues at LT. With Fisher taken by AZ though thier are none left that grade out this high. Maybe the give Gaither another chance to get healthy or try later in draft or in FA. CB is also a position of need with Jammer turning 34 next season and coming off a down yr. Enter Banks a tall rangy DB that was highly productive in the nations best conferance.

12 - MIA: Keenan Allen, WR, California
Personally think Tannehill has the tools to be a solid NFL QB. While Hartline and Bess are decent WRs, neither should be #1 options. Allen seems to be the best WR in this deep but not real top heavy class of recievers. He has good NFL size, is very aggresive and physical. Good hands, has all the tools to develop into the #1 Miami needs.

13 - TB: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
The Bucs absolutly need help at Dback somewhere in this draft. I think they can find value in the 2nd and 3rd rd at the corner position instead of reaching here. This is a BPA pick in an area of need, having a dominant front line will also help the back end of the defense as well. Hankins is a monster of a man with excellent quickness and should be an impact player at DT. Line him up with an improving McCoy and with Clayborn coming back, they will have the makings of a young talented Dline

14 - CAR: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
The Pathers hit with Kuechly last yr and thier DE play was solid. Yet they are weak in the middle of the DLine. Richardson is not the monster DT that many look for @ a shade un 300lbs, but is explosive of the ball and will push th pocket for those DEs and is stout at the point of attack freeing up Kuechly to make even more plays.

15 - NO: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
The Saints defense was historically bad last yr. So they get rid of Spagnola and implement the 34. They need to fill pieces for that style of D. An edge OLB rusher is a big part of what makes a 34 go. Mingo is a local product who had a disappointing sr, yr. He is though a fabulous athlete with crazy speed. With some coaching and natural ability he could be a nightmare for opposing QBs.

16 - STL: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
The Rams have some good pieces in place. OT is a need, none grade out at this spot. While their front 7 is impressive and Fisher did a good job upgrading the corners last off season a play making safety is still a need. Vaccaro has great instincts and range, also played in the most prolific passing conference in college. Should be a day 1 starter with big play ability. This defense is beganing to have the makings of a top tier unit.

17 - PIT: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
Pitt did have the #1 ranked D in 2012. So why would they go defense in the draft? Because they are aging with 6 starters over 30. The Steelers have always been good at finding value/talent in the draft, and they do it again in this mock. Before the NCG debacle and the fake girlfriend scandel Teo was a top 10 pick, now that he's fallen Pitt will take him and plug him in the middle of that solid D. Teo has the intellilgence to play in Pittsburghs complicated D schemes. Great fit.

18 - DAL: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
With the hiring of Monte Kiffin Dallas will be switching to a 43 scheme. Ware is getting older, is now north of 30 and his production dropped of some last yr, and Spencer had a career yr in 2012 he has'nt shown that he can be a double digit sack guy consistantly and has never played as a down lineman. With Ansah they get a JPP clone, fantastic athlete with a very hi ceiling. Fairly new to football has the tools to be a dominant pass rusher for the next decade plus. Ware and Anash scary combo

19 - NYG: Kawann Short, DT, Purdue
Suprisingly, the Giants defense was ranked 31st overall in 2012, with teams running all over them for a majority of the season. They had some injury issues at DT but their has been inconsistincy inside as well. Joseph played fairly well but Canty had an off season and is getting older. With Short is a quick, aggresive athletic DT who shoots the gaps well and gives excellent inside pressure. Should be in the immediate rotation with potential of being an every down DT.

20 - CHI: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU
Urlacher is 34 a FA and no longer the great player he was, said he'll take a pay cut and maybe the Bears keep him on the cheap. Combine his age with Briggs being 32 they need to infuse youth at the LB position. Enter Minter, a physical beast who fly all over the field and lays heavy hits on whoever gets in his way. Possibly the next great Bear ILB in a long line of them.

21 - CIN: Matt Elam, SS, Florida
The Bengals are close. With a lot of talent on both sides of the ball and very good on both lines. The weak spot is SS. Crocker is a veteran and has been an average player in his career and Mays has'nt panned out. Elam is an instinctive play maker who play both the pass and run effectively. Not afriad to lay the wood he has excellent upside and could be an anchor in that secondary for yrs to come.

22 - STL: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
The Rams need to find a backside protector for Bradford. Saffold is a liabilty on the left side and should be upgraded if this team wants its franchise passer to survive a few more yrs. Johnson proved he can be an effective edge blocker at Oklahoma last yr doing a good job protecting Jones. Fairly new at playing OT he has tremendous upside.

23 - MIN: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Minny has a lot of solid pieces in place on both sides of the ball. What they don't have is a big play, stretch the field WR, Harvin is a play maker but more of a slot type guy and he has injury issues. Patterson is shooting up boards early, expectional speed should test well at the combine and has the size to be a perfect deep threat. Now the only question for the Vikes, is Ponder the guy to get him the ball?

24 - IND: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
The Colts did an excellent job drafting offensive skill positions last draft. Now they need to get some big uglies to help protect their main investment, Luck, and also move the ball better on the ground where they ranked 22nd in the NFL. Cooper grades out as the best all around Olineman on the board. Slightly undersized he is still very good at the point of attack and is extremely quick and athltic for a 300lb man. Will be able to step right in at OG or C.

25 - SEA: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
The Hawks have a quality run game, solid young defense and a young QB that looks like the real deal. What's missing? A true downfield threat, yes they have Sidney Rice but he has a history of inconsistancy and injury issues. Hunter really came on in the second half of 2012 after coming off an ACL in 2011. He regained his explosiveness late in the season and has terrific size to go up and get Wilsons bombs.

26 - GB: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
The Pack looked primed for another Super Bowl run late in the season. Than Peterson gashed them in wk 17. Although they contained him on wildcard weekend they were again exposed by SF the next week. Pickett is in his mid 30s and everyone else is meh. Williams has the size, speed and edge setting strength to be the protypical 34 DE.

27 - HOU: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
Houston looked like world beaters, till they strolled into Foxboro in early december. Brady shredded them than and did it again in the playoffs. Joseph battled injuries but is solid, across from him Jackson is'nt a high quality NFL starting CB. Trufant was extermely impressive at the senior bowl, showing he can handle man coverage and his stock is on the rise. Good size and ability to track the ball in the air. The Texans will have two shutdown guys if the draft Trufant.

28 - DEN: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
Champ is'nt getting any younger and Denver had issues with the physical Boldin in the playoffs. Rhodes should give them the physical presence they need at CB. At 6'2" 210plus he's in the mold of big CBs that are becoming common in todays NFL.

29 - NE: Barrett Jones, OG, Alabama
The Pats interior OLine while effective and well coached are a fairly pedestrian group other than Mankins, and he's getting older and has had some injury issues the last couple yr. Bellicheck loves versatility and Jones gives him just that, playing C,OG, and OT during his yrs with a dominant Alabama squad. Intelligent enough to make line calls and his versatility, plus the Pats SEC drafting history makes sense here.

30 - ATL: Alex Okafor, DE, Texas
Abraham is 35 right now and besides him Atl has no real pass rushing threat. Okafar has good speed and is a physical specimen that can get upfield and be a force off the edge. At 260ish he has room to add another 10-25lbs on his 6'4" frame. Has the potential to be a double digit sack guy yr in and yr out for the next decade.

31 - SF: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
The 49ers have a very solid front 7, but could upgrade over the 32yr old Sopoaga in the middle. Jenkins is a mamoth of a man that moves exceptionally well for his size. His pure size and ability to dominate the middle of the line will only make Willis and Bowman better, if that's possible.

32 - BAL: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
At this point in the first rd you're looking at BPAs for depth with starting caliber ability. Suggs is only 30 but he feels like he's been around forever and was definitly slowed this yr. Combine that with Krugers impending free agency Balt may look to at least add depth at OLB. Montgomery is solid at the point of attack and his explosion upfield is coming back being two yrs removed from knee surgery. Combine him with Upshaw and the Ravens could continue to have dominant edger rushers.
