Author's Comments

Based on current standings after Week 11

1 - KC: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
The Chiefs start over with a new QB that has a very high-ceiling and showed a tremendous amount of ability before cooling off in this back end of the season
2 - JAX: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
Montgomery moves back into my top 5 as Barkley plummets. If Henne can play as good as he did through the rest of the season, the Jags won't have this pick, and may not be looking for an early QB
3 - CLE: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Jones fills a bigger need for Cleveland than Lotulelei would. Fujita's absence and their lack of a pass rusher not named Jabaal Sheard has really stunted them.
4 - CAR: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
The Panthers move the aging Gross to RT and plug in a new, very agressive LT that is athletic enough to keep Cam up, and strong enough to open holes for their talented-yet-underused HBs
5 - STL: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
The Rams don't need Lotulelei, but they need a real LT that can hold up Bradford's blindside. Lewan is a strong pass blocker and powerful run blocker
6 - OAK: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
This is an easy pick for the Raiders. Tommy Kelly is overrated and old, and will likely be cut after this season. Lotulelei will learn a lot from Richard Seymour, and form a solid interior
7 - PHI: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
The Eagles would like any of the 3 players taken above them, but might not have a shot. They'll likely avoid drafting a QB here, and should go for Milliner as Asomugha and DRC could both be gone after this year due to high price tags and low production
8 - TEN: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
The Titans take the best pass rusher on the board, and land a high-ceiling prospect that is still learning the game, which should be a scary thought for Shaub and Luck
9 - BUF: Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas
Barkley will be lucky to see a 1st round pick, and Wilson has positioned himself up into the #2 QB spot. The Bills need a strong-armed QB to replace Fitzpatrick
10 - NYJ: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
I think the Jets will consider Wilson if he's here, but if not, Mingo would be an ideal pick. They need a really good pass rusher, and he has the tools to become one of the NFL's best
11 - STL: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
(from WAS) Talent-wise, Warmack belongs in the top 5, but because he is a guard, he'll be lucky to crack the top 15. If the Rams can land Lewan and Warmack with their first 2 picks (as the 49ers did in 2010), this team could have a much different feel to it
12 - ARI: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
The Cardinals should be thrilled to snag Matthews here. He is one of the top players on the board, and fills their biggest need at LT
13 - DET: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
The Lions have to draft Banks here. They are in such desperate need of a CB, it's upsetting, and they'll likely lose some fans if they can get better for next season
14 - MIA: Keenan Allen, WR, California
The Dolphins get Tannehill his #1 WR, and finally get a field stretcher on the outside
15 - SD: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
The Chargers should pull the trigger on Moore here as a potential replacement for Shaun Phillips, who is a free agent at the end of the season
16 - DAL: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
The Cowboys have a big need for a NT, and Hankins is a monster. Jay Ratliff can move out to DE, this defensive front instantly becomes more terrifying
17 - NO: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
The Saints need a pass rushing DE, and Jordan is a monster. He has a bit of Jason Pierre-Paul to him, and should bring a similar style of intensity and athleticism to their defense
18 - CIN: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
Te'o slides a bit right into the arms of Cincinnati. Maluga has been slow at MLB, and could be moved outside to make room for Te'o
19 - MIN: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
The VIkings could look for a DT or DE here, but i think they'll be more excited for Hunter who gives Ponder another real target that can make plays and draw attention from Peterson
20 - SEA: Dallas Thomas, OT, Tennessee
The Seahawks have a giant need at RT and guard. They should put Thomas at RT and slide Carpenter, who has struggled there, inside to guard
21 - NYG: Eric Reid, FS, LSU
The Giants take the best player on the board, and add some insurance to their safety position, where Rolle is getting older and Phillips has been consistently injured. Also gives them the ability to keep using their 3-safety sets
22 - TB: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
The Bucs need another DT to pair with Gerald McCoy. Williams has been dominant at UNC, and should only continue to get better
23 - IND: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
The Colts get a huge steal here, and land an excellent NT to anchor their 34 defense for a long time
24 - PIT: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
The Steelers need LBs that can play inside and outside. Mosley is a monster, and can be plugged in to any spot
25 - BAL: Barrett Jones, OG, Alabama
The Ravens added a really good o-lineman that can replace Matt Birk if he retires, or take a year to learn the offense and become their best backup lineman for any position
26 - NE: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
The Patriots need another field stretching WR to pair with Brandon Lloyd. Williams has been a revelation this season for Baylor, and should make some QB very happy next season
27 - SF: Matt Elam, SS, Florida
The 49ers have a massive need of a SS. Elam has quietly bounced up draft boards, and should be all over San Fran's radar
28 - ATL: Alex Okafor, DE, Texas
The Falcons dumped Ray Edwards, and should be looking for a new DE to replace him. Okafor has been huge for Texas this year, and should help out this defense
29 - DEN: Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
The Broncos need a DT, badly. Williams has good size to play NT for them, and should be a starter from day 1
30 - GB: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
The Packers are going to need to replace Charles Woodson very soon, and Vaccaro might be the next best thing. He can play either safety spot, and has good coverage abilities to match up with slot receviers
31 - HOU: Robert Woods, WR, USC
The Texans need a real #2 WR across from Andre Johnson. Woods has been excellent for USC, and has the skill and potential to turn into a team's #1 receiver
32 - CHI: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
The Bears take an excellent OT here. Fluker can replace Webb by starting at LT, or they can move Carimi to LT and plug Fluker in at RT
