Quentin Moses, DE, Georgia

Quentin Moses considered coming out after a spectacular junior season, but elected to return for his senior year at Georgia. Although Moses suffered a disappointing senior season, he remains a top prospect for the 2007 draft. Moses had considered playing two sports his freshman year at Georgia, spending time with the basketball team before deciding to exclusively play football. He is a tremendous pass rusher with an explosive first step, which allows him to beat most offensive linemen off the edge. Moses is not only a standout at rushing the passer, but has the keen awareness to recognize the run and pursue the running back. He utilizes numerous hand and spin move techniques when engaged by his opponent, but at this point lacks the upper body strength to overpower offensive linemen in the NFL. Moses' long frame and long arms allow him to disrupt the passing lanes and easily defend the pass. He is clearly a "tweener" and will need to bulk up to be productive at defensive end against the run. During workouts at the Senior Bowl, coaches had Moses performing linebacker drills, creating speculation he could transition to outside linebacker. Regardless of his position in the NFL, Moses brings a commodity that most NFL teams covet: rushing the passer. Although his stock has dropped, he should be a late first round selection and possibly higher after the combine.
