2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Aaron Donald, DL , Pittsburgh

Donald is an undersized prospect with one of the best bursts off the snap in this draft class. His ability to hit the edge is really something special and it alone could carry him into the back-end of the first round. He'll have to prove he can hold his own given his light frame in the weeks and days leading up to the 2014 NFL Draft.

As mentioned, possesses elite speed and very active hands. Excellent ability to keep blockers at bay and explode along the edge. Pass rush regularly pushes quarterback forward into the pocket. Shoots the gap regularly.

Light weight makes him a bit of a liability against bigger blockers. Will get engulfed and completely taken out at times. Makes the most of his lower center of gravity and will drive into blockers. If an offensive lineman plays too high, he will have serious problems with Donald. Uses hands well to establish position and get first contact. Good closing speed in backside pursuit. Quicker than he is fast. Average straight line speed. Could be a career pass-rush specialist that is featured heavily on 2nd/3rd and long.

Donald projects as a second round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.
