2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Sam Barrington, LB, South Florida

South Florida linebacker Sam Barrington is an undersized, thickly built player who moves well considering his stature. Good production in senior season (80 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and three pass breakups.) Height allows good leverage and pad level. Takes on blocks well. Looks to bring hard punch to blockers. Sometimes too focused on knocking heads rather than making a play. Faster than timed speed. A bit lumbered in his movements but moves well in the open field. A developmental 3-4 OLB. Effective tackler. Breaks down well and wraps the legs up. Coverage skills are a work in progress. Lacks the height to really challenge tight ends vertically.
