2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Lavar Edwards, DE, LSU

LSU Tigers defensive end Lavar Edwards is a long, tall defender. Stuck behind Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery for duration of his collegiate career. Limited opportunities in heavy rotation. Average hand/arm strength. High energy player. Can disengage reliably. Makes first contact using longer arms, but doesn't put enough pop into that first hit. No experience as a starter. A developmental player with limited upside. Can play either end position or inside on the right down. Must learn to use excellent length more to his benefit.
