2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

David Bakhtiari, OT, Colorado

University of Colorado offensive tackle David Bakhtiari opted to forgo his senior season and looks to be one of the top offensive tackle prospects in this draft class.

Bakhtiari has good length and a noticeable wingspan. Passes the eyeball test with formidable core strength that runs through his lower half. Just under ideal height and weight and will need to add more girth. Some teams may see him as more of a guard or a possible utility flex option who can play multiple spots.

Reliably quick off the snap. Uses his length very well to latch onto defenders. Once he has his hands on a player, he drives from his legs and through his upper body in order to create running lanes. Not that great in open space and struggles to pull. Needs to finish blocks and shut down opponents to the whistle. Gets after guys at the second level and certainly loves contact. Tested well at the combine and displayed some above-average athleticism with a 5.02 40-yard dash.

Bakhtiari projects as a third to fourth round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
