Justin Hunter Scouting Report

Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Justin Hunter is looking like the most athletically gifted prospect at his position of the 2013 NFL Draft class. A lean athlete with long arms and reliable hands, he is a former track specialist who still has plenty of upside to blossom into an elite NFL player.

Hunter has elite ball skills. A natural leaper who can catch the ball away from his body and does not wait for the ball to come to him. Can explode off the line and glides downfield. Not particularly strong or physical, he is still learning some of the more nuanced roles a receiver must take (i.e. blocking, using his hands to create space between himself and defenders).

He can stretch the field with good straight line speed. Very well-built with long arms and big hands. Will need to add bulk to his frame, specifically his lower body. Experience is key and should develop nicely in his first few years in the league. Hunter can catch any pass in his area and has good elusiveness to extend the play after the catch.

Hunter really excelled at the combine by putting his raw ability on display. He projects as a late first to early second round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
