2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Chris Harper, WR, Kansas State
Despite lacking ideal height, Harper is well-built at 229 lbs. He can handle press coverage, release and accelerate downfield cleanly. Sells head fakes and jukes when running routes. Not going to run away from most defenders and will have to rely on his route running and fluidity. Has a very natural tempo when running his routes. Can secure the ball with his hands away from his frame. Above-average feel and body control when going after the catch. Doesn't offer much YAC potential and will likely peak as a WR2. Could show more effort after the catch.
Harper is very competitive and must remain under control of his emotions. Tough and willing to work the middle of the field. Underwhelming as a blocker and must bring same level of competition to multiple aspects of his game that don't involve catching the football. Former quarterback so he has a good feel for coverage and finding the soft spots in zones.
Harper projects as a fourth round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
