2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
B.W. Webb, CB, William & Mary
Webb has an excellent drop-step and uses his feet well to redirect. Great balance, gets in and out of his breaks very quickly. Glides across the field. Zone coverage also excellent and can play on an island in man coverage. Loose in the hips and can flip, turn and run without losing any speed. Solid ball skills and hands. Not a natural when returning the ball, but he's quicker than most, which can turn into yards.
Tackling is an issue. Seems to avoid most contact and will pick through crowds. Tries to evade blockers too often. Wraps and drags down the ball-carrier. Needs to add more strength and trust his body for contact.
Good route recognition. Can get a bit lost in zone coverage and trains his eyes on the quarterback. Needs to keep his head on a swivel. Sometimes a step late in breaking on the ball. Above-average leaping ability. Sufficient straight line speed with elite change of direction.
Webb projects as a third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
