2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Adrien Robinson, TE, Cincinnati

Cincinnati Bearcats tight end Adrien Robinson may have only been a one year starter, but the New York Giants feel they drafted the "Jason Pierre-Paul of tight ends."

High praise for a fourth round selection but Robinson's measurables are certainly intriguing. Robinson ran a 4.58 40 yard dash which is pretty amazing considering his size and weight. He didn't have a lot of college production yet the physical tools are there.

In the NFL, he'll have to hit the weight room and be coached up on his blocking technique. Robinson was not highly regarded coming out of college and was widely projected to become an undrafted free agent. In order to stick around, he'll need time to develop his in-line blocking and show an acumen for special teams. He could be used sparingly in motion or out wide, but he'd only be a liability if forced to block a NFL-caliber pass rusher on the edge.

Tight end was thought to be a key need for the Giants, but they must be relatively confident they'll have the services of either Jake Ballard and/or Travis Beckum for the 2012 season.
