2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Demario Davis, OLB, Arkansas State
Davis was a Combine top performer at his position in the 40 yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump and 60 yard shuttle. When watching Davis, he plays with great explosion and seems to be gravitating toward the ball at all times. Great first step, takes great angles and wraps up with authority. The big concerns are his fundamentals in pass coverage. He looks great playing downhill, but needs to play with better patience and slower feet. What that means is that he's playing at such a fast, attacking speed, it is hard for him to gear down and it shows in his steps.
He uses his hands well to shed blocks. Love his arm violence; runs hard with his arms to get his body moving. Good instincts, plays the shoulder well.
Davis has a ton of upside and honestly, he's the type of player that Vontaze Burfict wishes he could become. Look for him to potentially move up draft boards, but for now he's a third to fourth round selection.
