2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Julian Miller, DE, West Virginia

West Virginia defensive lineman Julian Miller is a well-built prospect who possesses some nice explosion in the trenches both against the run and pass. Although he could afford to add more bulk in his lower half, Miller has a great jump off the snap. He'll need to keep his pad level lower at times, but his long arms help him initiate contact and disengage.

Scouts will want to see him bend the edge more often. Miller has slid inside for the Mountaineers this year, but still has solid production. 2011 will mark his third straight season with at least 40 total tackles and six sacks.

Miller has a good motor, but plays too upright against the run (especially if the play his away from him). He needs to do a better job of reacting to the play and locating the ball.

There is definitely a lot to like with Miller in his length and burst, but in the NFL he'll need to clean up his balance, footwork and pad leverage to take his game to that next level. A team may want to give him a shot as a pass-rushing outside linebacker though so the potential position versatility may see him drafted in the late rounds.

Prediction: 7th Round

He would be a good player for the Chiefs to look at in the early 7th round! He has a higher ceiling than most of the guys down there!
