2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Joe Adams, WR, Arkansas
But Adams is more than just a one-play wonder. He has been a force at wide receiver for the Razorbacks for four seasons now. In his freshman year he had 31 catches for 377 yards and one touchdown. As a sophomore he made 29 receptions for 568 yards and seven touchdowns. Although Adams did not rack up the scores in his last two seasons, he lit up the stat sheet with catches and yards; 50 for 813 and six touchdowns in 2010 and 49 for 630 and three touchdowns in 2011 (heading into Arkansas' bowl game). As mentioned earlier, Adams was also an outstanding special-teams contributor. He returned 16 punts for 259 yards (a 16.2 average) and three touchdowns, two prior to the amazing one against Tennessee.
The Little Rock, AR native stands at just 5'11'' and 190 pounds. His speed is what will make him hard to deal with for defenses at the next level, as he consistently runs in the 4.3s of the 40-yard dash and he has been clocked as fast as 4.30 from that distance. Adams could have a huge impact at slot receivers on Sundays, in addition to his status as a return man. Look for him to go off the board in the third or fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
