2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Andrew McGee, CB, Oklahoma State

Andrew McGee's story is a very inspiring one. He broke his neck late in the 2009 campaign and it was quite likely that he would never play football again. Yet, by the time the 2010 season kicked off, McGee was back on the field for Oklahoma State. Prior to his arrival at OSU, McGee spent a couple years at the junior college level where he made quite a name for himself.

Prior to his injury in 2009, the cornerback had a fine season for his first year in the program, tallying 32 tackles and breaking up six passes. For all the questions heading into 2010, McGee put together a superb season. He led the team with five interceptions and raised his tackle total to 51. As a result the Big 12 coaches named him to the All-Big 12 First Team.

McGee has good instincts and does a pretty good job blitzing from the corner. His coverage skills are not the best around, but they are not bad either. The big thing keeping McGee down most draft boards is his injury history. Besides the broken neck, McGee has been hampered with nagging injuries, including a strained hamstring suffered at the NFL combine.
