2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Tandon Doss, WR, Indiana
Doss has good size for a receiver (6'3, 200 lbs.) and possesses great hands. He catches the ball with his hands, rather than his body. He runs good routes and is good at improvising his route if the quarterback is in trouble. Doss is also good after the catch, despite lacking big-time speed.
Given his size, he is not particularly strong and can get pushed around in press coverage. Doss is an average blocker and doesn't really get after defenders to create running lanes or extend the play for his teammates. Although he had a great sophomore year, his stats dropped off this season as a junior.
Doss should be used as a good, but rarely great possession receiver in the NFL. He is versatile enough to return kicks, but he simply doesn't have the speed that scouts would want for that position.
Tandon Doss projects as a fifth-round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft.
