2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Chris Owusu, WR, Stanford
Owusu looks the part of a receiver with decent height and bulk on his frame. Once he gets to his top speed, he can flash sub-4.5 speed and occasionally get behind defenses. Beyond his straight-line speed, Owusu isn't a refined receiver. His hands and route running are lacking. Scouts want to see a player who can cleanly change directions and create separation, but Owusu wastes a lot of motion in his lower half.
Owusu is able to break a tackle here and there and does make it a point to get more yards. He is a violent runner who doesn't mind contact after the catch. If drafted, the first area he needs to improve is getting more consistent with his hands. He does not catch the ball away from his body cleanly.
Looking ahead to the 2012 NFL Draft, he will likely be an undrafted free agent, but could move up into the late rounds with a very strong combine.
