Kenny Rowe, OLB, Oregon

Kenny Rowe has spent his collegiate career as a pass rusher at Oregon. That has mostly been as an undersized defensive end with the Ducks, but at the next level Rowe will likely need to move to a rush linebacker spot. As a freshman in 2007 Rowe did not play too much, but he certainly made the most of his opportunities. He only tallied eight tackles on the season, but had an impressive 6.0 tackles-for-loss and 5.0 sacks. He even forced a fumble. That is what a pass rushing specialist should do. Rowe made a brief appearance at linebacker during the spring leading into his sophomore campaign, but returned to the line as a reserve pass rushing specialist again during the 2008 season.

As an upperclassman Rowe turned into more than simply a specialist; he finally stepped into a major role. As a junior he tallied 43 tackles, 15.0 tackles-for-loss, 11.5 sacks and forced three fumbles. The opposing offense is keeping an eye on him during 2010 and through the regular season Rowe has not put up quite as impressive of numbers. However, he still leads the Ducks with 6.0 sacks and has added 15.5 tackles-for-loss and four forced fumbles.

Rowe's lack of experience at linebacker is an issue and his 6-3, 232 pound frame is not big enough to play defensive end in the NFL. He pretty much does not fit into a position. He lacks the strength of a down lineman and the speed of a linebacker. That will certainly hurt his stock, but Rowe is a big hitter who can come in on passing downs and get some big hits on the quarterback.
