2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person
Jarrett Brown, QB, West Virginia
West Virginia is not getting much national attention this year as Cincinnati and Pittsburgh dominate the Big East, but quarterback Jarrett Brown is quietly putting together a pretty solid season. Brown is more of a traditional passer than the Mountaineers are used to in recent years, but he is still an elusive ball carrier who has 366 yards and five touchdowns on 87 carries in ten games. After sitting on the bench for three years, Brown did not get an opportunity to play until his senior season in 2009. He has made some mistakes (as indicated by his 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions), but in general Brown has emerged as a leader and has done a fine job completing the passes he should complete. What makes Brown an NFL prospect is his size. At 6-4 and 221 pounds, he has the look and arm strength of an NFL quarterback. With his elusiveness, he becomes even more valuable. The problem is he has only started one season and has not exactly taken the college football world by storm. Brown could develop into a dynamic quarterback, but no team will take a chance on him too early in the draft; though he is definitely worth a pick in the later rounds. 2/21 Update: Brown has been impressing NFL scouts with his arm strength. He really did not have the opportunity to show it off too much at West Virginia, but he certainly has during workouts. He is slowly working his way up most draft boards and the lack of postseason production from signal callers like Jevan Snead could move Brown up to the third round. However, it will be at the NFL Combine where his final status will be determined.

Prediction: 5th Round
I think at best, he will be a Seneca Wallace type player. Which isn't bad.

Prediction: 4th Round
Somebody will fall in love with Brown's athleticism and cannon arm, but he is very wild an inaccurate and may not have what it takes to handle an NFL playbook. He's wortha look, but not any earlier than the fifth round.

Some team will draft him because of his size, arm strength, and athleticism. He doesn't have a ton of playing experience but I think he could develop into a solid NFL QB after a few years of being a backup.
