2009 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Tarrion Adams, RB, Tulsa

The Moore, Oklahoma product was redshirted in 2004, then played in all of the school's 13 games in 2005 posting 574 rushing yards with 8 TD. He also caught passes for 273 yards with two TD. In 2006, Adams played in nine games rushing for 329 yards and two TD; he also caught 362 yards with one TD. Adams really came into his own during his Junior campaign, starting six of the fourteen games he played. He rushed for 1,225 yards with eight TD, also grabbing 304 yards worth of passes with three TD. He was named Offensive MVP of the GMAC Bowl where he rushed for 112 yards and score one TD against Bowling Green. After the season, Adams was voted Honorable All Conference USA performer. Adams is a big, bustling back who gets better the more carriers he has. He knows how to follow blockers, running low to the ground making him tough to tackle one-on-one. He is a good (not great) inside runner with a good set of hands, who runs crisp routes. But his lack of speed is apparent (4.62)and he cannot turn the corner. Adams will get caught up from behind relative easy. He makes it hard for people to miss him, and he can take a lot of pounding. Adams is a the similar role as the Bears' Matt Forte; A big somewhat powerful back, who lacks the speed and agility to become more than a situational RB in the NFL. Nevertheless, he does have some good traits that will be a welcome addition to anyone who drafts him. He is a project who probably will never be more than a career backup. Adams will be a six to seventh rounder, if drafted at all.
