2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Jadeveon Clowney, DE , South Carolina

Since he was a teenager, everyone knew Clowney had NFL potential. He rated as the No. 1 high school prospect according to multiple sources back in 2011. Now with the league-mandated three years under his belt, he will make the jump to the NFL, which is where he belongs.

Clowney is already a grown man with special skills. Fantastic length, athleticism and strength. Once-a-decade pure talent. Can beat blockers with strength or speed, inside or out. Sudden burst, change of direction, and lateral agility are all elite. Great bend when working the outside edge. Could play multiple positions, but makes the most sense as a 4-3 DE.

Blamed for taking some plays off in 2013, but he did show an excellent motor in 2012. Work ethic has been a concern at times, as his talent far surpassed his competition. Showed great effort in backside pursuit. Plays to the whistle. Tackling technique is a bit hectic and will need to learn how to break down properly. He simply flies around the field, which is why he often relied on impact tackling. Very aggressive, downhill style of play. Could be the game's best pass rusher for years. The hype is real and deserved.

Clowney projects as a Top 5 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Too much to pass up

Prediction: 1st Round

He will be alright until he faces the elite or even the average tackle in the nfl. Look what Mitch Morse did to him in the second meeting between MU and South Carolina 1st time he gave up 1 1/2 sacks and 3 tackles for losses. Second time no sacks and no tackles for losses. Not to mention running back Marcus Henry a 5'8" 185 pound player stiff armed and made him look like a joke in a 20+ yard touchdown run.

Prediction: 1st Round

Plus he was one on one almost the whole game and Morse is not a elite tackle by any means.
