Round 1 of 1

1. TB: Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
Ndamukong Suh will not be the sexiest first overall pick in NFL history, but if Tampa Bay ends up with the first selection, Suh is the way to go. The 6-4 300-pounder has shown no signs of slowing down in 2009 and if he grades out well at the NFL Combine, Suh will be the first defensive tackle off the board and maybe even the first player off the board.
2. DET: Eric Berry, S, Tennessee*
The Lions should probably take an offensive lineman here and they very well could if one of them emerges as the obvious choice at this point in the draft. However, if there is not a tackle worth taking, Eric Berry is not a bad secondary option. Considered by just about everybody as the best player in the draft, Berry could turn the Detroit defense into something good, but that does not do Matthew Stafford any good.
3. KC: Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma St.
It is Russell Okung who may end up being the offensive lineman that is worthy of a top five selection. He will have plenty of competition from players like Bruce Campbell, Trent Williams, Ciron Black and Bryan Bulaga, but Okung has all the tools necessary to turn into a superb tackle for a long time and, perhaps more importantly, Okung does not have any major injury concerns like some of the other tackles have.
4. STL: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
St. Louis desperately needs lots of things, but number one on the list is at quarterback. Sam Bradford has a lot to prove after suffering an injury early in the 2009 college football campaign, but he is the type of quarterback that the Rams can build their franchise around. He may not be worth this early of a pick at this point since he has missed out on most of this season due to injury, but he could be by the time the draft rolls around.
5. CLE: Jake Locker, QB, Washington
Cleveland needs a quarterback and going after another overrated Notre Dame signal caller does not make much sense
6. OAK: Taylor Mays, S, USC
Al Davis taking a great athlete out of USC? Who would believe it? Few players will match Mays' speed and athleticism and at 6-3 and 235 pounds, Mays can lay out the big hit. But it is his versatility to help out in run and pass defense that makes him so special.
7. WAS: Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas*
Forget about Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow. Those two went back to school for a reason. Both could end up being great NFL quarterbacks, but they are not early first round material. If the Redskins are drafting this high it means it is time to forget about Jason Campbell and move on. Ryan Mallett has certainly been inconsistent this season, but the draft eligible sophomore has a great arm and could shoot up draft boards, especially if Sam Bradford remains a question mark due to his injury.
8. SEA: Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
Trent Williams has done a pretty good job picking up the slack while Oklahoma's offense struggles to replace injured tight end Jermaine Gresham and quarterback Sam Bradford. Williams never gets any credit, but he could be one of the top two or three offensive tackles in this class if he has a good senior season.
9. JAX: Greg Hardy, DE, Mississippi
Greg Hardy could have been a first round pick last year, but injury concerns would have dropped him down a ways. If he can stay healthy throughout the 2009 campaign he has the talent to be the top defensive end in this class, but Carlos Dunlap and George Selvie will have something to say about that.
10. SF: Ciron Black, OT, LSU*
The 49ers have two first round selections and one of them should be used on an offensive lineman. According to many, Ciron Black out of LSU is the best offensive tackle on the board and getting him with the 10th overall pick is a pretty good value if that is the case. At 6-5 and 325 pounds, Black is a dominating force and San Francisco desperately needs a right tackle.
