Newman will have the owner points from the #66 team to start the season, so he is firmly in the field for the first five events. Why is a driver who once won eight races in a season ranked so low? First, a move to another team usually requires a transition period; secondly, his most consistent season in the last three years was 2007 when he had 15 top 10's. He still has the ability and the new team should give him awesome equipment; but expect an adjustment period to start the season.
