2009 Predicted Points Finish: #25

I felt strange not having Labonte included in the column to start the season. He is now driving the Hall of Fame Racing Ford, actually operated out of the Yates stable with support from Roush Racing and Ford. I feel better about Labonte's chances than I would had he stayed with Petty Enterprises. Despite the merger, Gillett-Evernham and Petty Enterprises do not look like they will compete for Chase spots outside the #9 team anytime soon. Yates hasn't been much better in recent years, but they have had young, unproven drivers with no positive track record. Labonte will benefit from the new Ford engine and the increasing support from Roush Racing.
