Get ready for the Cowboys to throw it deep, a lot

This isn't really news, but Cowboys play-caller Scott Linehan likes to throw the ball. He loves it. Really, I think it's an obsession for him. Just look at how many pass attempts he dialed up as the Lions' offensive coordinator over the past five seasons. He's going to do the same with Tony Romo and Co. this year, and Linehan suggested during a recent radio interview that a good portion of those passes are going to be deep shots.
"It's going to be our philosophy to do those kinds of things maybe a little more," Linehan said. "I think we have the personnel for [throwing downfield], for sure. It's a way to get people backed up a little bit and also create big plays.
"Everybody says it's a low-percentage play. Depending on the look, it's a high percentage play, as long as you got weapons on the outside part of the field. I really believe we have that."

Fantasy Analysis:

The Cowboys certainly have a couple of guys who can go get it in Dez Bryant @DezBryant and Terrance Williams @TerranceWill2. Linehan also mentioned second-year tight end Gavin Escobar by name, and said he's "really excited" to see what he can add to the offense.
Deep throws that are 30-plus yards downfield will never be as easy to convert as similar 10-yard passes, but low percentages or high percentages be dammed; the Cowboys are going to sling it around all year. I don't know if that will lead to team success, but it will be incredibly fun to watch and help the fantasy values of all of those involved.
All except maybe running back DeMarco Murray @DeMarcoMurray, who knows full well what it feels like to be forgotten in an offense.
