Packers HC Mike McCarthy loves him some WR Jarrett Boykin
Packers wide receiver Jarrett Boykin didn't earn stable playing time in the offense last season until Week 7 but still gained 681 yards. Green Bay will need a full season of stepping up from Boykin this year after James Jones left through free agency, and he has head coach Mike McCarthy's full confidence.
"I can't say enough about Boykin," McCarthy told reporters Wednesday. "The young man is a heck of a player, he's done it the right way, special teams, he's performed every opportunity he's given."
Boykin is "only" the Packers' No. 3 wide receiver behind Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson , but he is an upgrade over Jones, and he should at least have consistent WR3 value and could top 1,000 yards in 2014.
