Dennis Allen will remain Raiders' head coach for 2014

Despite 4-12 records in his first two seasons, Dennis Allen is staying on as the Raiders' head coach. Team owner Mark Davis said in a phone interview with ESPN.com on Tuesday night that he and Allen "talked about a lot of things, from personnel issues to the coaches to a review of the past season to the draft and our needs for next season," but Allen's job security was not an issue.
Allen, 41, has two years remaining on his contract. Oakland hasn't posted a winning season since 2002.

Fantasy Analysis:

In a league where Rob Chudzinski gets fired less than one full year after being named a head coach, it wouldn't have surprised me if the perpetually dysfunctional Raiders dismissed Allen. Yes, the outputs have been ugly, but people should realize that Allen hasn't been given a lot of talent to succeed with.
It was reported Tuesday that at least six Raiders assistant coaches accepted one-year extensions, so next season could be make-or-break for the entire staff. That's going to mean a lot of pressure in a division with three playoff teams.
