Redskins sticking with QB Robert Griffin III

No matter what some rabid, disgruntled Redskins fans might want and what 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks says, Robert Griffin III @RGIII will remain the Redskins' starting quarterback. Head coach Mike Shanahan confirmed it on Tuesday. Griffin's job security became a hot topic following Monday's 27-6 loss to San Francisco in which he threw for a season-low 127 yards and was held out of the end zone.

Fantasy Analysis:

Griffin was pretty awful in that game, but the Redskins as a whole didn't show up. They got outcoached. They couldn't run the ball or block, and let Colin Kaepernick @Kaepernick7 do whatever he wanted in or out of the pocket. That's not Griffin's fault. To think the 3-8 Redskins would be better off benching their franchise quarterback for Kirk Cousins @KirkCousins8 at this point is nonsense.
Griffin isn't close to the player we saw last year, but he is still healthy enough to play. He is only a matchup-based starter in fantasy. For this week against the Giants, I think he is a very low-end QB1. I'd rather not play him as the Giants' defense is on the up, but big games versus the Cowboys and Falcons could lie ahead.

Bottom line is a decent QB is on the bench while a clearly still not 100% RGIII stays on the field my question is at 3-8 why not rest and protect RGIII so he's 100% next season and give Cousins the shot he deserves. Are they afraid of starting a QB controversy? I don't see the logic in not resting RGIII for a week or two when the best you could possibly finish anyways is 8-8.

I just hope that after this season ends and Dan Snyder fires Shannahan, RGIII can sue Shannahan for shortening his career in the NFL after letting him play hurt last season which has directly affected his ability to play again since. Shannahan needs to go- NOW- and they can get some decent WRs for RGIII to throw to.
