49ers TE Vernon Davis expected to play Sunday
There hasn't been a substantial update on Vernon Davis ' status for Week 11 today. The most we've got to go on comes in a blog post from beat writer Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. Barrows wrote Saturday that Davis "is expected to play following a concussion suffered last week. The 49ers, however, likely will wait until the last possible moment to announce that Davis has been cleared for the game." The 49ers battle Saints on Sunday.
Technically, we're still waiting on Davis, but it sounds like you should feel OK about putting him in your lineup before you go to bed tonight. Just make sure to check back for any updates on Sunday morning -- we'll have it covered. We hope to have some more clarity then since the 49ers-Saints game is a late-afternoon kickoff. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick would sure love to have Davis out there.
