New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen is finally eligible to return from short term injured reserve. The former Cal back required wrist surgery after a dominating Week 1 performance and hasn't played since then. He has been practicing for two weeks and is expected to return immediately into his "joker" position. He should dive right into New England's RB rotation.
Vereen has been injury prone since his college days so fantasy owners will have to take whatever they can get for him. The problem looking ahead is accepting the fact that Vereen's Week 1 numbers (14 rushes for 101 yards and seven catches for 58 yards) were him at his absolute best. He's not going to produce like that every week, but at times, he can be very good. If he's still available in your league, add him and give him a shot.
