Saints writer skeptical of RB Mark Ingram's emerging role after breakout

New Orleans Saints beat writer Mark Triplett in his ESPN blog feels running back Mark Ingram @MarkIngram22 will remain third in the pecking order behind RBs Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas despite the former Alabama runner's breakout game. Ingram rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. He also added two receptions for 15 yards. This 100-yard game was Ingram's first as a professional.

Fantasy Analysis:

Dallas should be ashamed of themselves for allowing Ingram to run so well. Thomas led the team with 17 carries but finished with fewer rushing yards (87) than Ingram. The 23-year-old returned in Week 9 after not playing since Week 2. With his healthy finally back, Ingram's fresh legs proved to be a difference maker. His long run of 34 yards was the second-longest of his career. Ingram currently ranks just outside the Top 100 at his position in fantasy scoring so don't overextend to add him to your roster by expecting him to repeat those numbers through the second half of the 2013 season.
