Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon suspended indefinitely, done for 2013

Justin Blackmon @JustBlack81 missed the opening four games due to a violation of the NFL's substances of abuse policy.

For the same the reason, the playmaking wide receiver will miss the final eight games as well. The Jaguars announced Blackmon's indefinite suspension on Friday:

"All of us who are a part of the Jaguars family care very deeply about Justin and his well-being," GM David Caldwell said in a statement released by the team. "That said, he must be held accountable and accept the consequences announced today by the NFL. His suspension will provide him the opportunity to receive the attention and professional treatment necessary to overcome his challenges, and we will support him during this time. The Jacksonville Jaguars will evaluate Justin's status once he has successfully met the criteria to be considered for reinstatement to the league."

In the four games he did play this season, Blackmon caught 29 passes for 415 yards and a touchdown. He can apply for reinstatement before the 2014 season.

Fantasy Analysis:

Let's start with the truth: Blackmon needs to figure out what it means to be a professional and quick if he wants to salvage his career and livelihood. Hopefully he does. Hopefully fantasy owners are not crushed with this news, though many surely are. What this news does is move Mike Brown from a speculative pickup to viable WR3 option once Jacksonville returns from its bye week. Over the last three games playing with Blackmon and Cecil Shorts, Brown caught nine passes for 212 yards and one TD.

What else can go wrong with this team? You know what, for the sake of Shorts and Maurice Jones-Drew owners, let's hope we don't find out.
