Titans want near-split of the carries between RBs Chris Johnson, Shonn Greene

Titans running back Shonn Greene played in his first game on Sunday since Week 1 and was given all of one carry. Head coach Mike Munchak wants to see a lot more out of him in future weeks. According to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, Munchak said Wednesday that should get about 15 carries per game "if all goes well. Munchak added that he would like to see Chris Johnson @ChrisJohnson28 get 20 carries per game.

Fantasy Analysis:

Oh, best laid plans ....
Alas, I don't think the Titans will be giving their running backs 35+ carries each week, not with how well Jake Locker has been playing, and not with their defensive deficiencies up front. The real story here is that the Titans would like Johnson and Greene to basically form a two-man backfield committee. That's much worse for Johnson than Greene. Johnson has averaged 3.2 yards per carry and hasn't scored a rushing touchdown all year. He basically won't be a fantasy RB2 unless the Titans continue to give him the ball more as a receiver -- they've been fairly successful at doing in a couple of games lately. With that passing-game usage, Johnson is much closer to a flex option. Greene, if he can get around 15 touches per game, should definitely be added in all leagues, but his value will largely depend on short touchdowns.

I remember a few years ago, looking at the upcoming draft and thinking this Locker guy could be the best QB Chicago has drafted in a long time..
