Giants unlikely to trade WR Hakeem Nicks

The New York Giants are not likely to trade wide receiver Hakeem Nicks before Tuesday's trade deadling (4 pm eastern). The fifth-year wideout is still on track to have a decent season (68 receptions for 1,042 yards) but his zero touchdowns through eight games have hurt the perception of his talent. He is still seeing a strong majority of snaps and never played fewer than 84-percent of them.

Fantasy Analysis:

Nicks used to go toe-to-toe, statistically, with Victor Cruz @TeamVic when both were healthy. They'd essentially take turns beating up defenses and scoring bunches of fantasy points. This year, Rueben Randle @RuebenRandle has played more like the Giants' No. 2 receiver and that's while playing around 50-percent of snaps this season. Nicks is a low-end WR3 and that's just the way it is. A change in scenery could help, but the Giants would only need to add another receiver in next year's draft if they were to part ways with him. Unless a trade partner is willing to overspent to get him, the Giants are right in holding onto him.
