Report: Patriots still undecided on TE Rob Gronkowski's status for Sunday
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has now been cleared by his independent doctors to play. We thought he had already been cleared by his team. Apparently not just yet. A league source has told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio that the Patriots haven't decided if Gronkowski will actually play versus the Jets. They will make that decision Sunday morning.
This report feels like it came straight from the mouth of Bill Belichick, wanting everyone to wait and guess until the last minute. For what it's worth, Gronkowski did travel with his teammates to New York and is still expected by many to be active. We will know for sure at around 11:30 a.m. Eastern on Sunday. If he plays, Gronkowski is no worse than a top-five fantasy tight end. I'm sure Tom Brady can't wait to welcome Gronk back and will be looking for him whenever he's on the field.
