Patriots WR Danny Amendola could miss weeks; TEs Zach Sudfeld, Rob Gronkowski inactive Thursday

As expected, the Patriots will be without wide receiver Danny Amendola @DannyAmendola, and tight ends Zach Sudfeld and Rob Gronkowski @RobGronkowski tonight versus the Jets. But the big news here is that the speculation that Amendola's groin injury might not force him to miss only this game but many more.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Thursday that Amendola could be out from anywhere between 2-6 weeks. This follows the projection of ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss, who wrote he wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Amendola before Week 4.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Patriots' next game is in 10 days at home against the Buccaneers. The hope is Gronkowski will be available then, but it sounds like Amendola definitely won't be. This is what you get with him.
As such, the Patriots will move forward with this week's hot waiver-wire add, Julian Edelman @Edelman11, and Kenbrell Thompkins as their top two wideouts. Rookies Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce are active, but they will see fewer snaps. Michael Hoomanawanui, whose name I copy-and-pasted into this post, will start at tight end tonight, but he is also not work a look right now. Edelman is the WR I want in this situation right now, although I think he's more of a WR3. I think you will see the Patriots lean on Stevan Ridley @StevanRidley tonight, no matter how error-prone he was Sunday. It's amazing how things can change in a few days between games in this league.

Should I wait on Amendola or drop him for Edelman?

You guys had Edelman ranked as the #66 receiver on Wednesday. I started him anyway because I totally disagreed. Why do you now have him at #11? You can't pretend that you made the right decision. He should still be sitting at 66 on your list. That was your prediction before he played.
