Redskins endure injury-riddled MNF including WR Hankerson, NT Cofield

The mid-foot injury suffered by QB Kirk Cousins is the headliner, but the Redskins had several players leave their Monday Night Football game with the Steelers including third-year wide receivers Leonard Hankerson @HankTime85 (right knee) and Aldrick Robinson @AldrickRobinson (left thigh) plus starting nose tackle Barry Cofield (broken right hand). The severity of each remains uncertain for now. Hankerson, who hauled in a spectacular one-handed catch for a 10-yard touchdown before leaving, and Robinson are sleeper types that could land significant playing time due to the Redskins overall suspect receiving options. The powerful Cofield is the lynchpin to the Redskins defensive line.

Fantasy Analysis:

Assuming the injury is minor, Hankerson remains a risk-reward option worth considering in the final rounds for owners in 12-team leagues. The risk is the 6-foot-3 target remains the inconsistent and injury-prone he's been through two seasons. The reward is he's the Redskin receiver to own after Pierre Garcon, though that's not saying much. He finished with two receptions for 26 yards. The 5-foot-11 Robinson offers a pure deep threat; he averaged 21 yards on 11 receptions last season. As for Cofield, the initial reporting sugegsts the injury is not a major one. The Redskins' 3-4 defense would drop in potency without Cofield's run-stuffing and pass-rushing presence in the lineup.
